You Asked ByeAlex, the Hungarian entry for this year's Eurovision Song Contest - Q&A part one
I have been into music for quite a while now but I only started to pay more attention to making music around a year ago.
How many songs do you have so far?
There are six songs which I wrote. Four of them are already known to the audience and two of them are not.
During "A Dal" you have explained several times that you don't like the term "fan". Has this changed since then?
I'd like to distance myself from that. For me, it means something crazy to be fan. So I think a fan is a lunatic. If the bands I like call me a fan, I usually take it as an offense deep inside because I am not crazy. Which means, I don't listen to your music or follow your posts because I'm going crazy for you. What for? We don't drive Porsches, we don't have outstanding achievements, we aren't better than others therefore I want to distance myself from this word that I don't like.I like to communicate that it is useless to be fanatic about a musician, especially in Hungary.
Do you have role models from your childhood?
Childhood role models? DJ Uncle Dévényi Tibi. No way. No. Nils Holgersson.
And who are your musical inspirations?
Well, with regard to my ByeAlex project, nobody, I'm not sure if there is any influence but for my other attempts playing in rock bands: 30 Seconds to Mars meant a lot to me, or Muse, or from the heavier style Parkway Drive and Bring Me The Horizon are important bands in my life.
Please tell us about a day in your life.
These days, I get up in the morning and Laci, my manager picks me up and brings me here or to other places or to some newspapers, radio or TV stations. Then I try to arrange two hours to free time in order to be able to go to the gym. This didn't work out in the past two weeks. In the evening I meet one of my friends and we go out for dinner, we talk and have a drink. I usually get home around midnight or 1 o'clock.
How do you relax to switch off your mind after concerts or after work?
I lean back and in order to rest my ears, I tune to Bartók or Classic Radio and I read. This is what I do.
Is there something you feel talented at or you think you are good at?
I can't really say anything about talent because I'm not the one to decide upon that. What I'm good at and simply meaning, something I'm good at, I think I'm good in writing on a certain level or standard. Of course this doesn't mean I'm getting the Nobel prize for it because that surely won't ever happen but I think I am a good writer.
And is there something you are not good at? Something you even avoid?
If your boiler is broken or something like that, don't call me.Az objektív tájékozódás érdekében javasoljuk, hogy a híreknek / eseményeknek több külön forrásnál is nézz utána!
